"Dramatically Increased" Productivity and Profits

When the folks at Poison Spyder Customs were looking for a way to streamline their manufacturing process, they asked Baileigh to set up a solution. As they wrote to tell us, "Adding the...CS-350M to our shop has dramatically increased our bottom line, and we're able to produce parts in hours instead of weeks."

Great Addition to our Fab Shop

Our new CS-350 cold saw has performed flawlessly. The 14" diameter blade has increased our cold sawing capacity over our old 11" models. It’s nice to be ale to run some mid-range material through the Baileigh cold saw without having to put it up on the large band saw. The CS-350 has been a great addition to our fabrication shop!

Q & A

Which is right for me: a cold saw or a band saw?

That choice depends on 3 main factors: cut quality, material size, and production speed.

Need to make the highest quality cuts with clean, mirror-like edges? Then you probably need a cold saw.

However, band saws can usually cut larger pieces of material than cold saws in the same price range. Band saws also cut more quickly than cold saws.

What’s the difference between a European-style vise and an American-style one?

European-style vises are faster for production, because they let you clamp and unclamp the material more quickly. The operator can get a better view of the cut with a European-style vise, as well.

American-style vises are self-centering. The vise keeps the material in the correct position, centered in relation to the descending blade.

How long do cold saw blades last?

A blade usually lasts 3 weeks to a month if you’re using it for an 8-hour shift with a correct setup.
